About Me

The given name is James, or Seamuis either way, unless you want to call me Erik. I am a Texan born and raised, from the city of Fort Worth. I currently reside in the city of Savannah, Georgia which is a great inspiration for me. I'm 24 years old, I'm an Atheist, an 'Irish-American' who loves his heritage, an aspiring photographer, and a 'Pentaxian' at heart. I fancy myself as being thoroughly stuck in the 70's. I love old camera's, custom vans, vinyl records & turntables. I enjoy 60's & 70's Rock, Irish Folk, Blues & Classical. I am a street photographer, I pursue a passion for capturing people doing what people do. I take my photographic inspiration from the likes of Garry Winogrand, Stephen Shore, Harry Callahan & Sam Haskins. I also take plenty of inspiration from some of my favourite musical artists such as Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Bob Dylan & Steve Miller just to name a few. I have no formal photography training but I am always seeking and trying to progress as an artist while I use the world around me as a learning tool.

As mentioned I am a vinyl enthusiast. I currently have about 1600 12" 33 1/3 LP and EP's about 200 or so 45's and a couple of 78's. Im not into vinyl because its 'vintage' I grew up on vinyl with my fathers collection and old Pioneer turntable. I now own that collection as a part of my own. I own no CD's and only enough digital music to keep me happy at the computer and at work. here is my current setup, yes I am an Audio-Technica fanatic:

"I don't have anything to say in any picture. My only interest in photography is to see what something looks like as a photograph. I have no preconceptions."
- Garry Winogrand

Oh, hello Mr. Soul, I dropped by to pick up a reason
For the thought that I caught that my head is the event of the season
Why in crowds just a trace of my face could seem so pleasin'
I'll cop out to the change, but a stranger is putting the tease on.

I was down on a frown when the messenger brought me a letter
I was raised by the praise of a fan who said I upset her
Any girl in the world could have easily known me better
She said, You're strange, but don't change, and I let her.

In a while will the smile on my face turn to plaster?
Stick around while the clown who is sick does the trick of disaster
For the race of my head and my face is moving much faster
Is it strange I should change? I don't know, why don't you ask her?
