About Me

As I gear up for the demise of United States based internet radio (see Wired article: http://www.wired.com/news/culture/music/0,72879-0.html?tw=wn_technology_internet_9), I find that it's time to reacquaint myself with Last.fm. That being said...

Hi, I'm Rebecca. I'm a 21 year old Chicagoan with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business , depsite the fact that I'm currently employed at a large corporation that has nothing to do with the art. It would not be an exaggeration to say that music is the main focus of my life: I own about 900 CDs (I'm old fashioned that way, I'll keep buying CDs until they go extinct), and 95% of my disposable income goes to buying more albums, as well as concert tickets and band t-shirts. I'd like to think that my tastes are at least somewhat eclectic, some of my favorites include The Cure, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Depeche Mode, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Placebo, Stars, Bright Eyes, Massive Attack, The Cocteau Twins, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Elevator Drops, The Texas Governor, Tori Amos, Bjork, The Postal Service, The Dandy Warhols...the list goes on. My most recent job (before entering the unfriendly but stable world of corporate America) was working for Invisible Records here in Chicago, home to bands like Pigface and Sheep on Drugs. My boyfriend DJs karaoke, so at least once a week I can be found at the bar, belting out songs like "Magic Man" by Heart or The Cure's "Fascination Street."

I'm always eager to talk to people about music, and open to recommendations of bands that I should be listening to. So please, say hi :)
