Dr. K started djing back in 1987. Born in Rio de Janeiro his work took him all over Brazil. He has worked as a producer and remixed for many Brazilian artists. His international career began in 1995 when for two consecutive summers he threw Brazilian parties around Ibiza and Formentera in Spain famous music playground, since then Dr. K continues enjoying the loyalty of German, Italian and Canadian audiences alike.

His love and respect for music has got him into a deep research about all things retro from both the Brazilian and Latin music scene. For the last 5 years he’s the only ‘Carioca’ (native from Rio) DJ who holds a packed weekly residence dedicated to these rare grooves from the 60’s and 70’s. His unique set is filled with the best of Afro-Brazilian, Brazilian Jazz, Sambalanço, Bossa Nova and Brazilian Funk & Soul music. Most of it he gathered from rare vinyl’s, mixed with his own tracks and friends’ productions.

In 1998 Dr.K kicked off his career as a producer working with a variety of music ranging from Bossa Nova and Samba to the coolest Brazilian Drum’n’Bass music.

SwingSamba Lounge - Dr.K debut, is therefore the result of the past 7 years of research and passion for the 60’s & 70’s on an album that can only be describe as a true dancefloor filler, believe us, we’ve tried it the world over from clubs in London and Rio all the way to Tokyo.
