Save The World, A Project Of The Meaningful Life Center Hofstra Alumnus Ira and Maxine Stone, who recorded and performed with Bert Sommer on the first day of Woodstock 1969, will be headlining the event around 8PM. Although the majority of the show will feature songs from the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival, Ira and Maxine Stone will be playing a selection of songs they performed together with Bert Sommer at Woodstock. The concert will closely follow the songs of the bands that performed at the June 1967 Monterey Pop Festival event. Artists to be covered at the event may include The Association, Lou Rawls , Johnny Rivers, Simon & Garfunkel, The Animals, Canned Heat , Big Brother & The Holding Company , Country Joe & The Fish , Al Kooper , The Butterfield Blues Band , Quicksilver Messenger Service , The Steve Miller Band , The Electric Flag, Moby Grape, Hugh Masekela , The Byrds , Laura Nyro , Jefferson Airplane, Booker T & The MG's , Otis Redding, Ravi Shankar, The Blues Project , Buffalo Springfield , The Who ,The Grateful Dead, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Mamas & The Papas. The Benefit will take place on June 19, 2008 at The Triad located at 158 West 72nd Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West.
