About this album

© Avex Entertainment Corporation 15 tracks (41:51)
I am… is the fourth album released by Hamasaki Ayumi and it sold over 2,308,112 copies. The first single, M, was the first song Hamasaki composed and wrote the lyrics to. It’s one of her singles that sold past a million copies, over 1,319,070 copies sold. The third single, Endless sorrow, was also rearranged to show more of Hamasaki’s emotions. The fourth single, Dearest, was used as the ending theme to the anime InuYasha. Daybreak was dramatically remixed for the PV and single release, which was limited to 300,000 copies. Connected was also released in Germany later by trance artist, System F. Hamasaki debuted in international sales with I am… as #1 in Singapore with over 15,000 copies sold, it charted for weeks, making a record being the first Japanese artist to reach #1 in that country. The same year Hamasaki was invited to the MTV Video Music Awards Asia 2002 in Singapore; she accepted and sang M, performing for the first time outside of Japan. The album sold approximately 3,750,000 copies throughout Asia, making it Hamasaki’s highest selling album outside of Japan.
