Bit confused over album in album charts

  • Bit confused over album in album charts

Being extremely anal retentive here, but... I've listen to every song in Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) at a minimum of 40 times each and a maximum of 80. I listened to thise album with the tags exactly the same as the catalogue's version of the tracklisting (Which was for once correct), the album title being the same as well, but when I was listening to this album excessively, it not only didn't appear on my top weekly, but it didn't move up in my overall album charts at all. Is there any other reason this may have happened?

"Talking to a metalhead about music is like talking to Ann Coulter about politics"
"How can hip-hop be dead when Wu-Tang is forever?"
  • Cheers.

  • From what I've read, the album tag from a submission is only used for album charts if Last.fm has the MBID (MusicBrainz ID) for an album with that name in the database. That means that the album needs to be on the MusicBrainz site, and that the data needs to have been imported from MusicBrainz to Last.fm.
No all album details come from MusicBrainz, some come from other sources such as Amazon or from artist/label uploaded releases. The Last.fm release name also has to be identical to the name on MusicBrainz.
  • Strange, because my album name is identical, yet it isn't moving up at all...

  • Their page on MusicBrainz has the album name as "Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers" using a colon instead of brackets). The album also exists here:
    Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers.
The album needs to have the same name in all 3 places (your tags, Last.fm, and MusicBrainz) to be shown in your charts. If you changed the album tag to match the alternative above it may show up in your chart.
  • Same here, but with another album: Vantage Point by dEUS. My files are perfectly tagged, the scrobbler recognizes both the songs and the album, yet it never appeared on my overall album chart as it should have.
