Why might my Tracks Played counter be wrong?

Why is my Tracks Played counter wrong?

It doesn't mean anything: It's stored separately from all your other profile data, which means it's a huge pain to keep in sync with your profile.

There are two reasons your Tracks Played can be wrong:

    1. It got counted wrong once. Our servers sometimes fail to add up properly, and have at points in time both over-counted and under-counted Tracks Played.

    2. It's slow to catch up. Sometimes processing is slow. This results in your counter stopping, and sometimes even dropping back (due to the way we handle the counters). This usually fixes itself within a couple of days.

Don't worry, this will all be fixed soon. We are working on a way to pull your Tracks Played counter directly from your Overall Top Tracks chart (which will be updated in realtime). This will fix all these problems. This is happening soon, but I can't say how soon.

We don't really want to spend hours of our time fixing miscalculations in the Tracks Played number when the new system will fix everything instantly.

Hopefully that clears things up a bit.
